Huang Yao: A Remarkable Guest

The National Visual Arts Gallery is holding the Huang Yao: A Remarkable Guest exhibition till Oct 6, featuring the works of cartoonist,  poet and guest artist from China who was invited by the third Prime Minister the late Tun Abdul Razak in 1956. The show features over 160 works comprising paintings and cartoons that Huang created during his travels throughout the country.

KL Sketchers Making New Strides

It has been a while since I updated this blog. If you have been following my blog, please accept my apologies. I had been delayed by work, and some personal commitments. I am returning to put more posts about Malaysian watercolours here and I hope I can be of service to art lovers, especially Malaysian watercolour art.

Let me start by alerting you to an art exhibition at the University Malaya Art Gallery this month where a group of amateur artists known as the KL Sketchers are holding their inaugural show. According to news, various works of various sizes by 13 amateur artists from all works of life and ages are on display.


The show, featuring all watercolour works, is being held at the University Malaya Art Gallery, located on the Level Five of the Chancellery Building. The show is open daily from 9 am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays. You may call 03-79673780 for details. Below are some of the pieces on show:
